The Introvert’s Guide to…Crossing the street to avoid even your best friends

Jess and Phil have a confession. While its widely known that they will avoid acquaintances if they pass them on the street, its time to come clean and admit that they do the same, even if they see really good friends on the street. In this episode they talk about why they do it, and why they (mostly) don’t feel bad about it. And why you shouldn’t either.

    Hi to both of you,
So great a podcast on the okayness of ignoring friends on the street!
Wow. Never have ever heard this discussed that I can remember. Even in a novel or a story, not really examined regarding people who we still actually like. I ended up feeling very silly as well and getting the almost giggles, though by myself. I’m a theatre person as well and also enjoyed the detailed unpacking of single moments of contact, avoidance of contact, and the faces we put on, out of some social rule. I actually did laugh out loud at a couple. I need to think a bit more about when I’ve done similar things and will get back to you. Can’t believe more people haven’t responded. Guess they may have cartwheeled into a shop instead. Hope you are still doing this. Been awhile since this recording I plan on listening to the rest.
    Gratefully yours,
    in introversion amongst theatre types,
    John Sweeney,
    St. Catharines.
